Direct SAP eAcademy Pathway
We offer various modules according to your interests and skills. You can directly register through one of our friendly representatives to start learning now. Here are some of the basic SAP modules training paths:
ABAP (Advance Business Application Programming Module)
If you are interested in the technicalities of building and maintaining an SAP system this module is the perfect start for you. You will cover areas such as: Netweaver Application fundamentals, ABAP Open SQL, Web Dynpro, Object-Oriented Programming, Interfaces and Castings, to name a few. You will need basic knowledge of coding.
FI (Financial Accounting)
SAP Functional Consultant will carry out projects in according to their areas of specialties. For an FI consultant they will take care of the financial accounting department of the company within the SAP system. Such areas including: Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, General Ledger Account, Opening and closing, to name a few. A basic knowledge and passion for accounting and finance would be very beneficial.
CO (Management Accounting)
Usually a financial SAP consultant would study both FI and CO modules as in practice they go hand in hand. Since there are many topics to cover in the financial subject, it is divided into 2 different modules, and many people specialised in either one. In compared to the FI module, CO module looks deeper into the management side of company's finances. Such areas include: Costs, overhead management, profit planning, to name a few. A basic knowledge and interest for accounting would be advantages.
An MM consultant would handle projects specializing in the procurement department of the company within the SAP system. Such areas include: purchasing, vendor masterdata, logistics, stock materials, goods issued, Bills of Materials to name a few. This module does not require any background knowledge.
PP (Production Planning and Manufacturing)
A PP consultant would deal with production process of goods. In the workplace, they are usually based at the warehouse of the company. Large corporations who produced their own goods from raw materials are more likely to have a PP consultant. Such areas the PP consultant covers are: Material Planning, material staging and withdrawal, MRP to name a few. Similar to MM, PP does not require any background knowledge.
SD (Sales and Distribution)
The module SD, MM and PP have interconnected subjects. When you study one of these modules, you will more or less get exposed to some learning materials to the other two modules. An SD consultant would handle the Sales and Distribution department of the company within the SAP system. They will cover areas such as: creating and processing sales order, contracts, credit memo processing and returns processing, to name a few. No background knowledge is required to specialize in this module.
HCM (Human Capital Management)
Human capital management is also an important part of a company similar to product management and finance management. To achieve effectiveness within a company all sectors/departments must be taken into account including HR. A HCM consultant deals would handle the human resources section of the company within the SAP system. This section covers areas such as: employee education and training, time data, remuneration adjustments, reporting, to name a few. A HR background would be beneficial but not compulsory.
These are the 7 core modules that an SAP consultant must complete when first embarking their SAP career. Once you have specialized in 1 module, you can deepen your knowledge further into other modules such as: FI & CO studying further to Asset Management, MM and PP studying further into Warehouse Management or Supply Chain Management, or ABAP studying further into the more practical BASIS.
